The following are the main justifications for attestation from the home department:

The great majority of employment-related reasons internationally demand attestation from one's home department.

Another source of support for this notion is migration.

For them to continue their education, international students must get this attestation from their home departments.

One of the first and most important steps in the procedure is the attestation of documents by a home department. The department in charge of the originating nation must first authenticate each and every document that needs to be attested or apostilled. Eighty percent of these claims have been verified as true by Mantralaya, the home department of Maharashtra.

The primary explanation for this discovery is that Mantralaya has operated as a validation point from the beginning. The Mantralaya verification method is widely used, as evidenced by how many foreign embassies use it and how straightforward and reliable it is. Prior to the late 1990s and the middle of the 2000s, verification from New Delhi's Human Resource Department rather than clearance from the Home Department was the standard.

What does the attestation from the home department mean?

For the Indian office to authenticate the document, both the home department of the state where it was issued from and its validation must be received. There must be a need for this.
The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry in New Delhi outsourced this task to the Home Departments of each state in response to the rising number of Indian immigrants and the effects of globalization.

The name is still used despite the fact that HRD validation from New Delhi is no longer required; instead, attestation from the home department is needed.

Home Department Attestation/HRD process and timeline State-to-state differences in attestation exist. For instance, documents produced by Tamil Nadu are verified by the university. Depending on the college and the certificate's age, different time frames could apply.

In the case of Kerala, the reports are typically validated and returned at the same time. Depending on the college and the document's age, the amount that must be provided as a DD in some cases may alter once again.
